  Pianist Ahmad Jamal's long string of recordings for the Argo and Cadet labels in the s are all pretty much worth acquiring. This lesser-known LP is a bit unusual in that Jamal's Trio (which also includes bassist Jamil Nasser and drummer Vernel Fournier) is joined by a piece string section on four of the nine selections. Unfortunately, Joe Kennedy's arrangements are not too inspiring 6/

  A 2LP set that collects some of Ahmad Jamal's best work for Argo and Chess – put together with a really wonderful selection of tunes! Some of the tracks feature Jamal in his standard trio format, especially caught live, which was always a success – but others feature larger backings, LP, Vinyl record album.

  Ahmad Jamal can be described as a musical "super star" of his time. You will be blown away by the extraordinary sound quality of the strings and special talent of Joe Kennedy on the violin. Great collection of arrangements. Side 1: I Hear a Rhapsody, This Could Be the Start of Something.
